How do I join New Zealand Masters Athletics?
You can join NZ Masters Athletics by contacting the secretary of the masters centre closest to you. The secretary contact details for each centre are on the Centre Contacts page.

Can I join NZMA as a 'social' member or supporter?
Joining a social members is one way of supporting the sport and your membership fee will go towards the running costs of the organisation.

Do I have to be a member of a club to compete at New Zealand Masters Athletics events?
No. In 2016 NZMA and Athletics NZ signed a MOU. This means that ALL masters who have joined an Athletics NZ club are by default members of NZMA. Therefore, you can compete in any event organised by NZMA, Oceania Athletics and World Masters Athletics. The MOU can be found under NZMA Info.

What is the minimum age for competing at masters events?
The minimum age for competing at certain masters events may vary from country to country. The accepted minimum age for competing at masters events in New Zealand is 30 years of age. However, for World Masters events it is generally 35. IAAF rules do apply, with WMA (World Masters Athletics) rules also applying to some rules, specifically to cater for masters athletes.
